College-Watch is an independent, college admission consulting company dedicated to guiding students and parents through the college admissions process. The founder of College-Watch is an educator, corporate recruiter, trainer, entrepreneur and mother who holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration, member of HECA - Higher Education Consultants Association, IECA Independent Educational Consultants Association, and WACAC - Western Association of College Admissions Counseling. A personal experience with the admissions process motivated the founder to research, document and develop a program that simplifies this process, reduces anxiety and enhances a student’s acceptance rate.
To guide students and parents through this process, the College-Watch 4-P System: PLANNING, PREPARATION, PERFORMANCE, PERSISTENCE was developed. The College-Watch 4-P System is a comprehensive approach to the college admissions process, which focuses on students and the role that parents, advisors and supporters play in preparing a student for the admissions process. Close attention is given to personal and academic development, college selection, testing schedules, essay writing and the application process.
Proprietary online modules, workshops and seminars are included in the system for freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years. We believe that a serious commitment to the college admissions process should begin in the freshman year to establish the solid foundation needed to compete at highly selective colleges and universities.
In the past few years, we have visited and evaluated over one hundred colleges and universities in the United States. We have walked campuses, conferred with admission officials and enhanced our knowledge of various campus cultures.
Our program has successfully guided students to highly selective colleges like Stanford, Brown, NYU, Amherst College, Vassar College, Pomona College, University of Pennsylvania, University of Virginia, UC: Berkeley, UCLA & Davis, University of Southern California, Georgetown University, University of Texas, Occidental College, George Washington University, American University & Oberlin College. The College-Watch 4-P System: Planning, Preparation, Performance, Persistence provides a distinct advantage in the college admissions process.
The college admissions process is increasingly complex and highly competitive.
Highly selective colleges evaluate and admit students on the strength of a comprehensive high school career.
The increasing responsibilities and decreasing number of high school counselors leave less time for comprehensive student college admissions consultation.
The college admissions process requires a 4-year commitment of planning, resources, time and perseverance to successfully prepare a student for admission to a highly selective college.
Most students who earn acceptance to highly selective colleges have a support network to assist them during the admissions process.
Student acceptance rates improve when a comprehensive strategic plan is adopted, executed, and professionally monitored.
The college applications process requires a dedicated team of student, parents, and professional advisors.
